Business Personal Property Tax Reminder
It’s time for Business Personal Property Tax Returns! Keep an eye on your mail for the 2022 tax year return from your county, and your OPPAL pin for online filing.
What is OPPAL?
The Optional Personal Property Assessment Link (OPPAL) is a centralized online filing system for business personal property tax returns. All Alabama taxing jurisdictions are required to accept business personal property tax returns filed using OPPAL; however, the system is optional to taxpayers.
- October 1: Assessment date (first date of the new tax year).
- December 31: Tax returns are due for the next year, tax payments are due for the current year.
- January-October: Tax notices are mailed at various times. Appeals are due 30 days from the notice date.
