Absolutely! Every June, we host our BMSS Summer Experience program in each of our 5 offices. This program is 3 days a week during the 4 weeks in June and offers paid job shadowing and networking opportunities to students entering their junior or senior year. We also host a one-day Summer Leadership Program in our Birmingham office for students looking to get plugged in with BMSS. Unique client circumstances allow us to offer summer internship opportunities in our Ridgeland office – use this link to apply!

We offer internships in all 5 of our offices! We have 4 offices in Alabama – Birmingham, Gadsden, Huntsville & Mobile, and 1 office in Mississippi – Ridgeland.

Bailey Gunter

Campus Recruiter

Bailey joined BMSS in 2019 as an accounting intern and currently serves as the firm’s Campus Recruiter. She graduated from Jacksonville State University with her bachelor’s degree in accounting. In her role as Campus Recruiter, she enjoys connecting with, mentoring, and recruiting talented students across the southeast to join the Zeal!

Bailey is originally from Gadsden and lives there with her husband, Graham, and their goldendoodle, Dood. When she is not in the office, you might find her at the beach or on the water. Her favorite things are spending time with her family and friends, working out, reading, decorating, and hanging with Dood!

Megan Carter

Early Careers Manager

Megan joined the firm in 2020 and currently serves as BMSS’ Early Careers Manager for entry-level hires. She began her career as an audit accountant at a Big Four CPA firm after completing her undergraduate degree in accounting at UA and her master’s in accounting at AU. Previously, Megan served on the BMSS recruiting team, leading both campus and experienced recruiting efforts. In her current role, she shepherds BMSS’ younger staff through the first few years of their careers, ensuring they have an exceptional experience.

A Birmingham native, Megan currently resides in Vestavia with her husband, Ryan; their 4-year-old, Banks; 2-year-old, Crawford; and their black lab, Sully. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and traveling and being outdoors with Banks, Crawford, and Sully.

Learn the Stripes

Looking for a way to get plugged into BMSS this summer?! Our “Learn the Stripes” Summer Leadership Program is the perfect opportunity! This program is a one-day event hosted in our Birmingham office that will allow you to network with professionals across all of our offices and learn more about a day in the life of a BMSS accountant in our different departments. This is a stepping stone for future opportunities with the firm, including internship and full-time positions.

BMSS Summer Experience

Experience what it is like to work at BMSS through weekly rotations through our various services! This 4 weeklong paid job shadowing and relationship building program allows students the opportunity to gain knowledge on the profession, while also getting to experience our award-winning culture for themselves.

Fall Office Visits

These invite-only half-day office visits are hosted in each of our locations and are the last step in the interview process for applicants during the fall semester. During this visit, Spring Internship and Summer Experience applicants are given the opportunity to meet with members of our management team and network with professionals that they would be working alongside during their time with the firm.

ZebraFest

This invitation-only event is hosted each year to celebrate our committed upcoming spring interns and welcome them into the BMSS family.

When does BMSS offer their internships?

BMSS offers full-time internships during the months of January through April each year. This internship normally occurs during the second semester of your senior year.
