BMSS Advisors & CPAs is pleased to share that Mike Gladney, CPA, a Member in the firm’s Ridgeland office, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (MSCPA) Public Service Award.
The MSCPA Public Service Award recognizes CPAs across Mississippi who have made impactful contributions to professional and civic public service in the state. Gladney’s recognition reflects decades of service to the CPA profession, his church, civic organizations and the greater Jackson community.
A native of Jackson, Mike graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1985 with a Bachelor of Accountancy, magna cum laude. He began his career with Ernst & Whinney before joining Hagaman Roper Haddox & Reid in 1989, which later became Haddox Reid Burkes & Calhoun. He became managing partner of Haddox Reid in 2022 and helped facilitate the firm’s merger with BMSS in 2023. Today, he serves on the BMSS Steering Committee and Leadership Team while continuing his work as an assurance partner in Ridgeland.
Gladney has been deeply involved with MSCPA throughout his career, including service as a Central Chapter officer, member of the Board of Governors, member of the Accounting & Auditing Committee and member of the Peer Review Committee. He chaired the MSCPA Peer Review Committee from 2016 until Mississippi joined Alabama and Arkansas to form Partners in Peer Review in 2019. He continues to serve through Partners in Peer Review with the Alabama Society.
“Mike exemplifies the highest standards of our profession through his dedication, leadership and service to others,” said Don Murphy, CEO of BMSS. “We are incredibly proud to see him recognized by MSCPA for the meaningful impact he has made on the profession and in the communities he serves.”
Beyond his professional leadership, Gladney has served Colonial Heights Baptist Church for nearly 40 years as an elder, deacon, LIFEGroup teacher and committee member. His mission work has included local outreach to schools, Shower Power, street ministries and evangelism efforts, as well as volunteering for national and international mission projects in states and countries including Arkansas, Indiana, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Haiti, Colombia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Mexico.
Gladney’s civic service also includes leadership with the Faith InDeed Foundation, Canton Academy, the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership and the Madison-Ridgeland Youth Club, where he coached youth teams for approximately 10 years and served as a league commissioner and board member.
BMSS congratulates Mike on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates his continued leadership, integrity and commitment to service.
