Whitney SetnickyCPA

Whitney Setnicky, CPA, is based in BMSS’s Huntsville office and has dedicated her career to serving nonprofit organizations, specializing in assurance, consulting and tax compliance for a diverse range of exempt organizations. She helps nonprofits navigate Form 990 reporting, public support calculations, unrelated business income and other nonprofit tax compliance matters with practical, plain-language guidance.

Whitney also advises nonprofits on accounting for contributions, grants, sponsorships, donor restrictions and other nonprofit-specific revenue streams. Her audit, review and financial statement experience allows her to support boards and leadership teams with financial reporting guidance that reflects the realities of the nonprofit environment.

In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Whitney is a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional and participates on the BDO Alliance USA Nonprofit Niche Leaders Collaborative Roundtable. She is also instrumental in leading BMSS’s Nonprofit Industry Group, is involved with the Alabama Association of Nonprofits and currently serves on the BMSS Legacy Board as Head of Grants, helping support the firm’s charitable giving and community impact efforts.

Whitney is deeply committed to leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and thrives on applying her expertise in the nonprofit industry across a diverse range of exempt organizations. Outside of the office, Whitney enjoys traveling the world with her husband, Josh, and unwinding with a good book alongside their dog, Pearl.
