Rachel Young is a Member in the BMSS Brewton office with 25 years of experience in assurance, strategy and business consulting. She specializes in governmental and nonprofit auditing, financial reporting regulation and governance, helping clients navigate complex reporting requirements while developing practical, forward-looking solutions.
With a proactive, strategic approach to client service, Rachel is especially skilled in projects that involve aligning goals, timelines and big-picture vision. She has been an owner in the firm for 10 years and has extensive experience leading audit engagements, reviewing financial statements, supporting clients through technical questions and helping organizations strengthen their processes.
Rachel earned both her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Accountancy from the University of West Florida. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in both Alabama and Florida and holds the CGMA designation. She is also a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Government Finance Officers Association.
Outside of her work at BMSS, Rachel serves as President of the Coastal Alabama Community College Foundation. She also enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, serving in her church community and cheering on the Atlanta Braves.
