Mark Waters

Mark Waters joined BMSS in 2022 and serves as a Professional EOS Implementer® and Fractional CFO/Controller. With decades of financial leadership experience, including serving in CFO and Controller roles, Mark brings a practical understanding of both the financial and operational challenges business owners face.

Throughout his career, Mark has led finance functions and worked closely with business owners and leadership teams to strengthen financial reporting, improve forecasting and cash flow management, establish effective processes and controls, and turn financial information into actionable business insights. As a Fractional CFO/Controller, he brings that experience to clients who need seasoned financial leadership without the need for a full-time executive. His approach goes beyond reporting the numbers—he helps leadership teams understand what the numbers mean, identify opportunities and risks, and make better-informed decisions about the future of their businesses.

Mark’s involvement with the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®) began in 2016, when his previous company was growing rapidly but struggling within the current structure. EOS proved to be a game changer, helping the organization align internally while creating greater accountability, focus, and opportunities for employee development. That experience ultimately led Mark to become a Professional EOS Implementer®, where he now helps leadership teams gain Traction®, build healthier organizations, and achieve their vision.

Mark’s philosophy of “Help First” guides his work with both clients and team members. Whether serving as a Fractional CFO/Controller or implementing EOS, his focus is on understanding what a business needs, providing practical guidance, and helping its leaders build a stronger organization.

A Decatur resident, Mark enjoys the community and outdoor activities the city has to offer. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Shelly, their three adult children, grandson and cheering on his favorite football team.
