Emily joined BMSS in 2016 as a staff accountant after serving as an intern during the 2015 tax season. Currently a supervisor, she works with a variety of industries. She specializes in the preparation of audits, employee benefit plan audits, reviews and compilations.
Described as caring, enthusiastic and bubbly, Emily attributes her success to her parents’ love and support as well as to her wonderful experience at Auburn. Her favorite quote is from Oscar Wilde: “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist.” It reminds her of how precious life really is and how she should make the most of every day. A perfect example of this philosophy is when Emily went on an African safari on which her jeep was actually chased by an elephant!
Born in Albany, Georgia, Emily now lives in Birmingham, Alabama, with her husband, Buddy. They love to go hiking, bake any kind of dessert, watch Auburn football, travel and spend time with family and friends. Emily loves Birmingham because it’s such a big city with so much to offer, yet it still feels like a small town.
