Derrel CurryCPA, CGMA

“Ask and understand what clients want and need.” That philosophy has guided Derrel Curry, CPA, CGMA, through more than four decades in the profession.

Derrel is a Member in BMSS’s Riverchase office in Birmingham, where he serves as the firm’s Assurance leader and is part of the recruiting team. Since joining BMSS in 2000, he has worked with clients in manufacturing and distribution, publishing, outdoor products, employee benefit plans, healthcare, nonprofit, and governmental industries.

Derrel has provided assurance services for more than 40 years, and he attributes his success to his diversity of interests and insatiable desire for knowledge.

He grew up in Tuscaloosa before moving to Birmingham, where he continues to reside with his wife, Becky. They have two sons. In his spare time, Derrel enjoys traveling, golfing, hunting, and watching college baseball and softball, coached by his son and daughter-in-law.
