Derrel joined the BMSS team in 2000 and currently serves as Assurance and Recruiting leader. He specifically works with clients in the manufacturing and distribution, publishing, outdoor products, EBP, healthcare, nonprofit and governmental industries.

Derrel has provided assurance services for more than 35 years. His diversity of interests, insatiable desire for knowledge and technological skills are the things he attributes for his success.

He grew up in Tuscaloosa before moving to Birmingham, where he continues to reside with his wife, Becky. They have two sons. In his spare time, Derrel enjoys traveling, golf, hunting and watching his son play baseball in the L.A. Dodgers organization.
