J. Aaron CooperCPA

Aaron Cooper, CPA, is a Member in BMSS’s Ridgeland office with more than 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing. He primarily serves governmental and nonprofit organizations, providing audit and assurance services tailored to their unique reporting and compliance requirements. Before joining BMSS, Aaron worked with several accounting firms, including KPMG and Grant Thornton, and later established his own firm in 2008, where he focused primarily on governmental and nonprofit audit engagements.

Aaron also serves on BMSS’s peer review team, performing peer reviews of governmental, Single Audit, and employee benefit plan engagements. He holds the Advanced Single Audit Certificate from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Aaron is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants. He previously served as a board member of the Louisiana Society of CPAs and as president of the Lake Charles Chapter. He is also a former member of the Louisiana Accounting and Auditing Conference Committee.

Aaron and his wife Jill live in Madison, MS, and have a son who is a practicing emergency medicine physician, and a daughter attending LSU Law School in Baton Rouge.
