2021 Employee Promotions

BMSS Advisors & CPAs proudly announces recent promotions. Rebecca Kitchen, CPA, RPA (Birmingham), Garrick Sams, CPA (Huntsville) and AJ VanderWoude, CPA (Birmingham) have all be promoted to senior manager.

Kitchen joined BMSS in 2018 with years of experience in corporate and individual tax. She provides tax services to a variety of industries with a specific focus in professional services and construction. Kitchen is a member of Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Greater Birmingham Auburn Club.

Sams joined BMSS’ Huntsville office in 2015 and currently works in tax and business services. His present work includes federal and state tax for both individuals and corporations within the construction, e-commerce and manufacturing industries. Sams is a member of Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), AICPA and University of Alabama in Huntsville Alumni Association.

VanderWoude joined BMSS in 2010 and currently serves in the firm’s audit department specializing in audits, reviews and compilations for the construction, manufacturing and distribution, recycling, and service industries. He is a member of Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA) and the AICPA.

Hannah Avery, CPA (Birmingham), Amanda Hunt (Huntsville), Jayme Lambert, CPA (Birmingham), Elizabeth Plasters, CPA (Huntsville) and Auston Sullivan, CPA (Birmingham) have all been promoted to manager.

The following individuals have been promoted to supervisor: Dalton Bradshaw, CPA (remote), Chance Cassidy, CPA (Gadsden), Whitney Badgett, CPA (Huntsville), Jessie Jackson (Huntsville), Stephanie Jensen, CPA (Birmingham), Amber Lockwood (Birmingham) and Tracy Mann (Gadsden).

Additionally, Brett Blackwood, CPA, Claire Brien, CPA, Peyton Cox, Sara Duncan, Anna Leigh Fountain, Bailey Gunter, Hunter Melton, CPA, Amanda Ord, Cyrus Patel, Cheyenne Sandlin, CPA, Madison May, CPA, Judson Motes, Emily Sanchez and Ellie Smith, CPA have been promoted to Senior Accountant. Sarah Burden, Shakir Campbell, Eliza Capps, CPA, Cole Compton, Katherine Gargus, Caroline Gilmer, CPA, Bentley King, Cooper Melvin, JD, CPA, Judson Motes, Micah Murphy, Brittney Pratt, Olivia Vincent, CPA and Caleb Yarbrough, CPA are all now Staff Accountant B.
