Birmingham, AL – Most BMSS employees from our Birmingham locations are working outside the office this Thursday and Friday, October 18 and 19. They are serving hands on throughout the city for a variety of nonprofit organizations.
“As a member of the business community, we are committed to giving back to the community in which we live and work,” said Founding Member John Shank. “We value our commitment to service and are honored to host firm-wide service days where all employees will be given the chance, and are highly encouraged, to provide community service in their local areas.
Throughout these two days, Birmingham employees will provide assistance for the following organizations: Gardendale Family Center through the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, Lovelady Center and March of Dimes. On Friday all Birmingham employees will be at Christian Service Mission working with a variety of projects including Grace’s Kitchen, construction, a diaper bank and medical missions.
Senior Accountant Laura Hall organizes community involvement at BMSS. “It’s impressive to see how much our firm values giving back to the community,” she said. “In addition to sponsorships and donations throughout the year, we are given the unique opportunity to take a day away from the office to be “the hands and feet,” meeting the needs of these very important organizations.”
Employees in our Auburn, Gadsden, Opelika and Huntsville locations will also be participating in their local communities throughout the month of October.
“It’s essential to contribute our time and efforts to these organizations; our firm-wide service days provide an opportunity to show our continued support and gratitude for the valuable work they do every single day.” Shank said.
