Our People

Judy Sullivan

  • Bookkeeper
  • Birmingham

Judy joined BMSS in 2019 and works as a bookkeeper. Though new to the firm, Judy is not new to the accounting world, as she has been in the industry for more than 30 years. Before coming on board at BMSS, Judy spent a combined 17 years working with Energen Corporation, where she acquired general accounting experience with a specific emphasis in revenue accounting. Her first seven years at Energen were spent as an assistant in corporate tax and accounting. Judy filed Energen’s first 10K on the SEC’s pilot program of EDGAR in December 1995. Judy then took a twelve-year break to be a stay-at-home mom. It was during the time she was at home that Judy began working from home as a bookkeeper for various clients. Judy made a return to Energen Corporation for another ten years before finally making her way to BMSS.

Judy was born and raised in Enterprise, Alabama. She came to school at Samford and remained in Birmingham. She is married to Chris, who farms cattle and poultry. They have three children: Elizabeth, who graduated from Briarwood in 2015 and is a senior in Accounting at Auburn and will begin the MAC program in June; Jonathan, who graduated from Briarwood in 2017 and owns his own landscaping company and helps manage the farm; and Sally Grace, who will graduate from Briarwood in May and attend Auburn this fall. The Sullivans have a Golden Retriever puppy, Dolly, and a Chocolate Lab, Hank. In her free time, Judy loves spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, reading and traveling.
