Introducing Our New Wealth Services Firm, BMSS Wesson Wealth Solutions
BMSS, is pleased to announce the formation and launch of its new wealth services firm, BMSS Wesson Wealth Solutions.
“Building a wealth services business has been a part of our strategic plan for a while and the natural evolution of the CPA firm’s maturity and growth plans. Wealth services has also become a necessary part of serving the needs of our client base,” says Don Murphy, CPA, CGMA, co-founder and managing member of BMSS.
Barfield, Murphy Shank & Smith has partnered with a local wealth industry veteran, Mark Wesson, to head up the new wealth services company. Wesson has more than 28 years of experience in the financial services industry including managing the Regional Wealth groups at SouthTrust, Wachovia and Wells Fargo. He was most recently responsible for creating and building the Wealth Services Division of Cadence Bank where he served as EVP of Wealth Services with full responsibility for the private banking, trust, brokerage and Registered Investment Advisor lines of business with $6.2B in loans, deposits and assets under management.

Wesson received both his Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Finance and Investments Management from the University of Alabama. He is also a graduate of Southern Trust School and the Graduate School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia. He recently served as Chairman of the Board of the Alabama Policy Institute, is currently a board member of the Birmingham Theological Seminary and is one of the Steering Committee members who formed the National Christian Foundation – Alabama Affiliate.
