Spencer joined Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith in 2017 and is currently a manager after previously working at another firm for six and a half years as an audit supervisor. He primarily assists clients with audit and assurance services, specializing in audits of entities receiving federal assistance requiring single audits, specifically Housing and Urban Development assisted entities such as Housing Authorities.
With over 7 years of experience, Spencer is known for being a team player and being loyal which, incidentally, helped earn him the NJCAA Academic All-American award in tennis two different years. He is a quick learner who went into accounting because he saw it as a way to use his professional knowledge combined with his interpersonal skills to provide peace of mind to clients who are faced with complicated situations.
Spencer lives in Birmingham with his wife, Lauren-Sydney, and dog named Harper. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf.
